LS, 1861 June 13 : Richmond, Va., to G.T. Beauregard, Manassas Junction, Va.

In regard to Beauregard's suggestion that J.E. Johnston's army join his at Manassas, Davis points out some strategic advantages to keeping the two forces separate, providing Beauregard's can be suitably reinforced. He adds that lack of transportation will make it difficult to adopt the concerted plan of action Beauregard has requested.
